On this ‘Heart of Presence’ journey commencing 28th January 2019, you will learn yoga practices to open up the energy channels in the body as well as specific poses to support your vitality as you travel.
The days will be filled with exploring India through her temples and ancient monuments, lively markets and rural landscapes as well as walking through her crazy, chaotic streets. In the late afternoons or evenings, Diane, your facilitator, will lead you through a creative process to help integrate and express the day’s experiences. You’ll learn new journaling, writing and visual arts exercises designed to bring you into greater presence.

Arrive in Chennai and transfer to a lovely beach resort in Mamallapuram, a vibrant fishing town. Overnight Mamallapuram.
Take it easy today with a group meeting & introductory class. We then check out the little town and enjoy lunch in one of the lovely cafes. There is some free time to browse the fabulous shops, relax by the resort’s beachside pool, enjoy a massage or perhaps go for a stroll on the beach. In the late afternoon, we take part in a guided tour of seventh century world heritage monuments. Overnight Mamallapuram.
This morning we have a short drive to Pondicherry for a relaxing stay at one of Auroville’s lovely healing centres. While here, you can enjoy some of the amazing healing therapies available as well as the delicious organic food and the tranquil seaside setting. Overnight Auroville.
Over these two days, we visit the nearby Matri Mandir meditation centre and enjoy a tour of the charming town of Pondicherry as well as experiencing the fabulous therapies. Overnight Auroville.
Enjoy a scenic drive to Tiruvanamalai, the spiritual heart of South India. Drive around the holy mountain and become acquainted with this amazing place. In the afternoon there is some free time to relax, swim or enjoy a massage. Overnight Tiruvannamalai.
Over the next few days you will visit Sri Ramana’s ashram for vedic chanting, the ancient temple, the hermit caves and the holy mountain Arunachula. We will also learn about the world’s most ancient health system, Ayurveda; and how to apply these simple principles to your life, as well as enjoying satsang with an insightful local resident. Today we drive to Mysore, a charming city with many lovely sights. There is some free time before dinner. Overnight Mysore.
This morning we have a brief guided tour of Chamundi hill before a short drive to Mudumalai for lunch and some free time to relax beside the lovely Nilgiri mountain range. Optional walk in the late afternoon up to the hill-top Shiva temple for stunning sunset views. Overnight Mudumalai.
Start the day with an early jeep safari and then visit IPAN animal shelter/farm. Enjoy free time in the afternoon before a visit to the picturesque river where we may see elephants bathing. Overnight Mudumalai.
After an early nature trek and breakfast, we head back to Mysore for a guided tour of the astonishingly beautiful Maharaja’s Palace and a visit to the vibrant fruit and flower market. In the early evening, witness the splendor of the lighted palace. Overnight Mysore.
Visit a friendly Tibetan monastery and enjoy a traditional Tibetan lunch with the friendly monks. Enjoy some free time in the afternoon. Overnight Mysore.
Today we drive to Bangalore, stopping on the way to enjoy a guided tour of the ancient & astonishingly carved Somnathpur Temple. In Bangalore we will enjoy a touch of opulence as well as the lovely arty Raintree boutique complex before a final group dinner.
