01. How long has Touch of Spirit Tours been operating?
Touch of Spirit Tours has been running since 2006 and since then has grown to include over 12 tours, covering both the north and south of India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Tibet. We now employ experts in various fields to help make our tours unique and unforgettable.
02. How many people will be on my tour?
We conduct intimate, boutique tours with approximately 12 people booked for each experience. This not only provides a more personalised experience for you, but allows the tour to be more flexible and spontaneous. When a festival or celebration comes along (which it often does in India), the tour group can more easily participate in the festivities. Also, on some of our tours we visit school classrooms, local homes and small villages. We could not offer these unique experiences with large groups.
03. What is the accommodation like?
You’ll only stay in accommodation that is clean and comfortable, and in the majority of cases has plenty of charm and ambience. The star rating of your accommodation varies depending on the tour you choose, along with what is available in the particular town. We can supply you with a list of hotels for each tour upon request.
04. How much do the tours cost and how much spending money will I need?
The tour prices range from approximately $2,500 to $3,600 AUD. Spending money of approximately $200 – $250AUD is recommended. If you wish to go shopping in the wonderful markets and shops, you will need to bring extra spending money. Visit the tour information page for more detail on each tour.
05. How do I book a tour?
Visit the contact us pages and either complete the booking form, message your enquiry or speak to one of our friendly booking staff. They will walk you through the entire process and help you embark on an exciting journey through India, Nepal, Sri Lanka or Tibet.
06. What is the weather like?
The South India tours run from late October until February – the ‘winter’ season with an average temperature range of 27 – 30 degrees. The North India tours run from October through until mid December and then from February to March. We avoid travelling the north from mid December to January as it can become very cold and foggy and flight cancellations are common. The temperature in the north varies from mild to warm during the time we travel.
Sri Lanka works well for most of the year, while Tibet is best from May to September. Nepal is best from March to May and October to mid December. We email you with detailed information about expected climate etc for your tour.
07. Will I get sick from the food?
People often worry about getting sick in India but knowing where and what to eat can make all the difference to your wellbeing. India offers a fantastic variety of delicious food for you to enjoy and we take many precautions to ensure that you do not become sick. We will provide you with plenty of guidance as well as bottled water in all of the countries we tour.
08. Are these countries safe to visit?
Just like many other countries, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Tibet are diverse places where sometimes, unpredictable events take place. Touch of Spirit Tours has a good network of local agents and contacts and we carefully plan our tours to minimise risk. It is also recommended that when you travel anywhere abroad, you cover yourself with an adequate travel insurance policy.
09. Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, it is a requirement that all tour participants have travel insurance that includes medical cover.
